Now Supporting Let’s Encrypt

Let's Encrypt Support on STORM

To allow all our customers instant access to SSL security we’ve enabled Lets Encrypt for all our customer’s web sites. Lets Encrypt is ideal for very basic SSL encryption for small, staging or development sites.

You can quickly enable Lets Encrypt on the SSL page with an on/off toggle. STORM will automatically check all the domains, subdomains and aliases for that web site and install the SSL within a few seconds. As soon as that’s completed you can enable the HTTP to HTTPS redirect to divert all visitors to the new secure web site address.

Faster Page Loading with NGINX

Published on August 2nd, 2017

NGINX is an alternative web server that is much faster than the traditional Apache web server. To improve page loading times for web sites on STORM we’ve implemented NGINX to serve static files. NGINX will automatically serve all static files like images, CSS, Javascript and PDFs much faster than Apache. Requests for PHP files will by pass NGINX and be served from Apache instead. This means you still have control of rewrite functionality using htaccess files. NGINX, by default, is enabled on every new web site.

If you would like to control your static files using htaccess you’ll need to disable NGINX. It’s really easy to disable on a per web site basis on the Configuration tab of the web site.

Launching STORM News

Published on August 1st, 2017

STORM launched just over a month ago on the 3rd of July and since then we’ve been rolling out new features and squashing bugs. Our promise to our clients is to maintain these features with our Simple, Fast and Secure motto. Some of our recent changes are quite fundamental like Change Domain Name while others maybe subtle tweaks to the user interface like the On/Off Toggles.

We’ll be using this blog to announce the larger features as they get released. As always we are very keen on your positive or feedback to help us develop the product.
